Control mice in this study were C57BL/6 mice, sex and age matched to the NOD and NOD-SCID.
All cell structure comparisons in this table represent mice at 5–8 weeks of age.
Hearing was monitored by ABR as described in the Methods at 5–8 weeks of age.
Incidence of diabetes was monitored in female mice from about 15 weeks of age until diabetes, typically at 25 weeks of age.
Salivary flow was monitored in mice after 12 weeks of age by the pilocarpine salivary flow test.
