γHV-68 replicates to a greater extent than does H1N1 post-bleomycin. Mice were injected on day 0 with saline or bleomycin. On day 14 mice were infected with γHV-68 or H1N1. On day 21, lungs were collected and levels of H1N1 viral M1 (A) or γHV-68 DNA polymerase (DNA pol) (B) gene expression were measured by real-time RT-PCR.
