Different letters above the bar show significant difference at p < 0.05. Relative expression of genes associated with leaf abscission in response to 10% PEG-8000 as compared to the corresponding control of the same time is shown in panel (C). Gene expression was analyzed by quantitative reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR). Primer details and qRT-PCR conditions are detailed in Supplementary Table S5.
