Note that blocking PERK overactivation significantly suppressed increases in eIF2α phosphorylation in 5XFAD mice without changes in total eIF2α levels. Meanwhile, levels of phosphorylated eIF2α were indistinguishable between PERK+/− and wild-type mice. All data are presented as mean ± SEM and were analyzed by one-way ANOVA followed by post-hoc Fisher’s PLSD test (* p < 0.05 vs. wild-type, # p < 0.05 vs. 5XFAD).
