(b), THz waveforms corresponding to Point 1 and Point 2 indicated in the map as well as that for a bare InP substrate. The waveform at Point 1 indicates a highly polarized surface due to adsorption of oxygen molecules, and the waveform at Point 2 is qualitatively the same as that from the bare InP.
