Long-term effects of a blood meal on the pattern of locomotory behaviors used to traverse a behavioral arena at different water depths. We tested seven leeches (fed to satiation with blood on day 0) at four different depths – 0.5x, 1x, 2x and 4x. Percentage of (A) crawling steps and (B) swimming episodes before (pre-feed) and for 60 days after feeding while immersed at the four water depths. Error bars represent s.e.m.
