Rate constants of initial viral RNA decline in plasma (decay rate constants k) and corresponding half-lives (T_1/2) were determined as previously described (26). The decay rate constants k were calculated by fitting the data with an exponential function. The fit was very good with correlation coefficients in the range from 0.91 to 1.0.
