Results of mouse pulmonary clearance after aerosol challenge. Mice were challenged with M. catarrhalis O35E following subcutaneous immunization with PBS, formalin-killed M. catarrhalis O35E, and recombinant SBP2 (25 μg and 50 μg). At 3 h postchallenge, bacteria present in mouse lung homogenate were plated and incubated overnight. Colony counts were plotted. Error bars represent the standard errors of the means (n = 6).
