Five- and seven-day old female mosquitoes (20–30 insects) were fed blood on rabbit skin were dissected 24 h, 48 h and 72 h later. Tissues were assayed for PTP activity using pNPP as the substrate. The following tissues were evaluated: (A) ovary; (B) fat body; (C) midgut and (D) head. The control specimens (0 h) were maintained in 10% sucrose ad libitum and were dissected with one of the three points. Normalized data from five experiments were analyzed by one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) and by a post-test Tukey's Multiple Comparison Test, p<0.05 (A) p = 0.0476, (B) p = 0.0293, (C) p = 0.0001, (D) p = 0.1494.
