TABLE I.

Demographic information for participating subjects. Percent-correct scores for consonant-nucleus-consonant (CNC) words (Peterson and Lehiste, 1962) and AzBio sentences in quiet (Spahr et al., 2012) were collected as part of a previous research study from the laboratory (using the subject's everyday processor and program) or the subject's clinical file. All tests were performed with the CI alone in the auditory-only condition using recorded stimuli at 60 dB sound pressure level. The pre-CI pure-tone average for subject N6 was not available because that subject was not implanted at our institution. Asterisks indicate the two ears for the subject with bilateral CIs. R = right; L = left. SNHL = sensorineural hearing loss. PTA = pure-tone average for 250, 500, and 1000 Hz.
