The dried powder of plant materials was ashed in porcelain crucibles at 550 °C for 3h, and then extracted with 0.08M H2SO4 and 40% HF. The silicon concentration was determined by the colorimetric molybdenum blue method at 811nm. Values are means ±SD of five replicates. Different letters indicate a significant difference (P<0.05).
