Figure 4. Effects of [6]-gingerol on activation of caspases and PARP cleavage in SW-480 cells.

SW-480 cells (10⁶ cells/well) were treated with the indicated concentrations of [6]-gingerol for 48 h and the whole cell extracts were Western blotted on to PVDF membrane. The activation of caspases and PARP cleavage were detected by probing the blotted membrane with antibodies against Caspase-3, 7, 8, 9 and against PARP. The blots were developed using Enhanced Chemiluminescence (ECL). The relative fold differences of bands with control treatments were quantified from volume analysis of the bands using Biorad- Quantity One software. β-actin served as the loading control in each case.
