Both wild type and Δsll1694 cells were grown in BG-11 with ammonium iron(III) citrate (A), iron(III) oxide (B), or goethite (C) as the exclusive iron source. Samples were excited by a 440 nm light source. Traces were normalized to the PS I peak at 725 nm. Data shown is indicative of three separate experiments. The average standard error between triplicates was calculated. Wild type SE: ±1.3×10−2 (A), ±2.3×10−2 (B), ±1.8×10−2 (C); Δsll1694 SE: ±1.7×10−2 (A), ±1.2×10−2 (B), ±1.0×10−2 (C).
