The hexagonally averaged structure factors correspond to the averaged images for the 9 stain categories illustrated in the 4th column of Figs 2 and 3. The averaged structure factors were scaled by equating $\sum \mid F_{hk}\mid$. The same hand (|F_{1, 2}| > |F_{2, 1}|) has been taken for all images. The R-factors, $R_f=\sum \mid F_{hk}\left(n\right)-{\stackrel{‒}{F}}_{hk}\mid ∕\sum \mid F_{hk}\mid$, were computed by comparing the transform of domain n in each stain category with the average for that category. The mean values, R̄_f and their standard deviations (s.d.) are listed for each category.
