In MEs, rhabdomeral LpUVOps1-ir does not change significantly day to night while rhabdomeral arrestin-ir is significantly higher during the day compared with during the night. MEs were from animals exposed to full spectrum sunlight during the day in an outdoor aquarium. Eyes were fixed in the light 30 min after peak illumination during the day or in the dark during the night 4 h after sunset.
