Labeling of injured neurons. Images of DRG sections from ipsilateral L3-, L4-, and L5-DRG derived from Sural-SNI (A–C) and Tibial-SNI (D–F). Sensory neurons are labeled with Nissl (green) and injured sensory neurons are labeled with Dil (red). Sensory neurons of various sizes are damaged in L4- and L5-DRG, but not in L3-DRG. A larger proportion of injured primary sensory neurons are observed in Sural-SNI than in Tibial SNI.
