Figure 3.

Figure 3

Cell inhibitory rate using different vectors by MTT assay.

Notes: All samples of different vectors were performed at the DOX concentrations of 0.5, 1.0, 1.5, and 2.0 μg/mL. Both free-DOX and different vectors inhibited the growth cells over the studied concentrations. The cytotoxicity values of the NLC formulations were significantly higher than that of free-DOX solution and SLN at all concentrations (P<0.05). T-NLC had the highest cytotoxic effect compared with other vectors (P<0.05).

Abbreviations: DOX, doxorubicin; MTT, 3-[4,5-dimethyl-2-thiazolyl]-2,5-diphenyl-2H-tetrazolium bromide; NLC, nanostructured lipid carrier; pEGFP, enhanced green fluorescence protein plasmid; SLN, solid lipid nanoparticle; T-NLC, transferrin-modified DOX- and pEGFP-coencapsulated NLC; T-SLN, transferrin-modified DOX- and pEGFP-coencapsulated SLN.
