Reactions were prepared as described in Materials and Methods. wt, A/C and 6m origins were assayed in the presence of different nucleotide combinations. Above the groups of lanes we show the sequence of the template strands and its complementary indicating with arrows the products allowed to be synthesized for each lane (see also main text). Numbers indicate the maximum size of DNA for the different products. The reaction products were analyzed by high-resolution SDS-PAGE with 12% acrylamide. The mean values for the quantification of the most relevant bands referred to the wt with the corresponding standard deviations are shown (see Materials and Methods section).
