Eyes were enucleated, and lenses were carefully removed by a posterior approach and photographed under a dissecting microscope. Lens changes in both the untreated and oral Ocu-GLO-treated rats ranged from mature cataracts (worst case) to cortical opacities (best case). In contrast, lens in the topical Optixcare EH-treated rats demonstrated primarily suture accentuation, while no lens changes were present in the Kinostat-treated rats.
