Formulations: Tris = 20 mM Tris-HCl, 5 mM EDTA, pH 7.8 buffer; GHCl = 5 M guanidine hydrochloride, 50 mM Tris-HCl, pH 8.0 buffer. Total tau is the sum of Tris- and GHCl-soluble tau. Statistical analyses were performed using a Kruskal–Wallis test. Total Aβ is the sum of Aβ40 and Aβ42 for both Tris- and GHCl-soluble fractions.

Abbreviations: Aβ, amyloid-beta; SEM, standard error of the mean.
