pH-dependent enzymatic activities of recombinant Poptr1, Poptr2, Poptr3, and Poptr5. Enzyme activities were determined spectrophotometrically with substrate concentrations of 100 μm. Shikimate was used as a substrate for Poptr1 and -5, and quinate was used for Poptr2 and Poptr3. Relative activities (the maximal activity of a given enzyme was set to 100%) at pH values ranging from 5 to 11 were used for curve fitting.
