In this case, the larger aggregates are porous, highly irregular structures containing both NP monomers and clusters (multimers) stabilized by a network of proteins (G and H, snapshots from the simulations; both aggregates shown contain the same number of NPs as that in Figure 7D but a very different number of proteins). Monomers are omitted in panel B but are shown in panel C as part of the aggregates.
