Table 2. DSM-IV diagnostic criteria for AsPD (APA 1994).

  1. At least three of the following criteria must be met:
    1. Repeated acts that are grounds for arrest.
    2. Repeated deceitfulness.
    3. Impulsivity or failure to plan ahead.
    4. Irritability and aggression
    5. Reckless disregard for the safety of self or others.
    6. Consistent irresponsibility.
    7. Lack of remorse.
  2. Current age at least 18 years.

  3. Evidence of conduct disorder with onset before age of 15 years

  4. Occurrence of antisocial behaviour must not be exclusively during the course of schizophrenia or a manic episode
