Lactate release during reperfusion. (a) Time-dependent lactate release. There were no significant differences between the groups at 0, 1, and 3 minutes after reperfusion (P = 0.09 at 3 minutes), whereas control group showed significantly higher lactate release than all other groups at 5 minutes of reperfusion. (b) Total lactate release during first 5 min of reperfusion. The data shows the total release of lactate as measured in the effluent during first 5 min of reperfusion using different interventions.
