Methods RCT.
Participants 156 women.
Inclusion criteria: women at full term (38‐41 weeks) with premature rupture of the membranes and a Bishop score equal to or less than 4.
Exclusion criteria: women were excluded if there was cephalopelvic disproportion, if there was any sign of fetal distress, anomalous appearance, detached placenta or chorionamnionitis.
Interventions IV oxytocin group: 2‐4 mU/min of oxytocin.
Control group: intracervical dinoprostone gel (0.5 mg).
Outcomes Failed induction (no cervical change after 12 hours); mode of delivery; side effects and chorionamnionitis.
