^aGels such as those shown in Fig. 3 were quantitated with a phosphoimager, and the ratio of the signal from the native gel in comparison to that from the denatured gel was arbitrarily set to 1.00 for the parental HCT116 cell line. Clones #44, #70-32, #13, and #20 are all Ku86^+/− cell lines, and clones #A6 and #A10 are Ku86^+/− cell lines complemented with a Ku86 cDNA (see the text for a fuller description). All cell lines were normalized relative to HCT116 for total telomere length.
