BAECs were transfected individually in six-well format with both the test clone and a Renilla luciferase normalization control; both luciferase activities were measured 72 h later and also normalized to the 140 minimal promoter. Note that the majority of clones have activity that is <20-fold greater than that of the minimal promoter, whereas some have activity more than 100-fold greater.
