Extensive phenotypic characterization of mature DCs from chronically HCV-infected chimpanzee. The MCM mimic (TNF-α, IL-1β, IL-6, and PGE₂) was added to immature DCs from chronically infected animals on day 5 of culture. On day 7, the DCs were harvested and labeled with isotype controls and the indicated monoclonal antibodies. FACS dot plots for a chronically HCV-infected animal (CB0507) show the degree of expression of various markers and receptors. The horizontal bars mark the extents of staining by matched isotype controls. Gates were set to include cells with large amounts of FSC and SSC. The data shown are for one representative experiment out of four.
