(A) Method in Experiment 2. The task structure is the same as in Experiment 1, but a continuous recall procedure is used instead of the two-alternative forced-choice task to assess color memory. After the saccade task, a color annulus is presented and participants have to indicate the hue value of the memorized color by moving a cursor. (B) Distribution of color responses in the same-color, similar-color, and dissimilar-color conditions. Data were normalized so that errors in the direction of the saccade target color (in color space) were coded as positive and errors in the reverse direction were coded as negative.
