Fast BK current in tonic neurons. Voltage-clamp recordings from a tonic neuron during TTX application (+TTX) and following application of paxilline combined with TTX (+TTX+Paxilline, after 5 min of wash-in). Inset, the neuron was tested with the same voltage steps as in Figure 7. Paxilline-sensitive currents (bottom), suggesting BK currents, were obtained by subtracting +TTX+Paxilline currents from +TTX currents. The BK currents exhibited a fast and partially inactivating component.
