Left: Photo of a single Hamamatsu H11951 multi-anode PMT and a fully assembled, packaged detector module. The detector module consists of a 32 × 32 array of 1.5 × 1.5 × 15 mm3 LYSO crystals coupled directly to the multi-anode PMT. The scintillator PMT assembly is enclosed within a very thin carbon fiber housing that provides minimal gamma ray attenuation. Right: Photo of the compact front-end readout electronics attached to the multi-anode PMT. The electronics reduces the 64 anodes to 8+8 row-column anode sums, 8 each along both the in-plane directions.
