Mouse Tr1 cells are activated through Ahr and require IL-10 and, partly, TGF-β to suppress. Ahr−/− or Il10−/− mice were treated and infected as decribed previously in Figure 5 and assessed for lung immunofluorescence with anti-LAP-PE or anti-IL-10-PE staining (a, c); numbers of LAP+ CD4+ T cells by flow cytometry on anti-CD3+CD28-stimulated lung cells (b, d), and lung histology (periodic acid-Schiff staining) (e, f).
