The effect of EPO on ROS generation was determined using DCF-DA assay in confocal Microscopy (A), spectrofluorometry (B). H9C2 cells were subjected to H/R with or without pre-treatment with 20 U/ml EPO for 24 hrs, H/R induced cells showed increase in green fluorescence (A), more fluorescence intensity (B), when compared to control and 20 U/ml EPO treated. Thus EPO decrease ROS generation after H/R. Data are presented as means ± SEM of the ratios from three independent experiments * denotes p<0.001 for analyses compared to H/R.
