Restricted maternal nutrition increases Akt phosphorylation postnatally but does not affect myostatin or follistatin protein expression. Semitendinosus muscle was analyzed for Akt (B & C), myostatin (mstn, D & E) and follistatin (fstn, F) by western blot. Tubulin was used as a loading control. Representative blots are shown (A).
