Induction of CYP1A2 but not CYP2C9 in cryopreserved HepaRG cells. (a) CYP1A2 induction in HepaRG cells plated in 96-well plates at seeding densities of 25,000, 50,000, and 75,000 cells per well and treated with DMSO (0.1%) or omeprazole (OME, 50 μM) for 72 hrs starting at Day 3 in culture. Data represent mean ± SEM for 3 independent experiments. ∗ represents P < 0.05 versus DMSO-treated cells; Δ represents P < 0.05 versus cells seeded at 25,000 cells per well; ¤  represents P < 0.05 versus cells seeded at 50,000 cells per well. (b) Treatment with DMSO (0.1%) or rifampicin (RIF, 10 μM) for 72 hrs starting at Day 3 in culture in HepaRG cells plated in 96-well plates at seeding densities of 25,000, 50,000, and 75,000 cells per well. Data represent mean ± SEM for 3 independent experiments. Δ represents P < 0.05 versus cells seeded at 25,000 cells per well.
