Albumin stimulates acyl migration. Dioleoyl-PS was digested by PLA₁ prior to the addition of albumin. At time 0, albumin (final 0.1%, w/v) and lipase inhibitor (to stop the PLA₁ reaction) were added and the samples were left at 37°C. Aliquots were taken at the indicated times and subjected to LC-MS/MS after the addition of nine volumes of acid methanol (pH 4). The result obtained in the absence of albumin is also shown. The amount of 2-oleoyl-1-LysoPS present at time 0 was defined as 100%. The data are representative of three experiments with similar results.
