SD rats were administered either saline or PE (150 mg/kg/day) in the HFD groups for 8 weeks; the rats were then sacrificed, and the liver tissues were collected. The precursor and mature forms of SREBP-1c were detected by Western blot analysis (A: Western blot image; B: statistical analysis). The mRNA levels of fatty acid biosynthesis-related genes (C) and TG biosynthesis-related genes (D) were detected by real-time polymerase chain reaction.
