Ten week old LDLR−/− mice were fed ad libitum High Fat High Cholesterol containing Western type diet (TD 88137) for 16 weeks with or without supplementation with amoxicillin in drinking water. Panel A: At the time of necropsy, fasting plasma was collected and LPS levels were determined. Data are presented as Mean ± SD, n = 6. Panel B: Intestinal Alkaline Phosphatase activity was determined and Specific activity (nmoles PNP released/h/mg protein) expressed as % chow-fed controls is shown (Mean ± SEM, n = 6).
