Three-dimensional images were reconstructed to show the detailed structure of GJPs from the z-stack images shown in Figure 1 I, J. GJP formation in adult (6w) cochleae from a littermate control (A) and a Brn4-deficient mouse (B). GJPs were immunolabeled for Cx30 (red), and nuclei were counterstained with DAPI (blue) (A, B).
