Localization patterns of VP1-412-mCherry mutants. The fusion protein was detected through mCherry fluorescence, and nuclei were stained with Hoechst DNA marker. wt protein was present exclusively in the nucleus (N > C). Proteins from some constructs were equally present in the nucleus and the cytoplasm (N = C), and some were almost exclusively in the cytoplasm (C > N).
