Several polypeptides are generated from the HSV-2 γ34.5 open reading frame. Vero cells were mock transfected (−) or transfected with an expression construct containing the HSV-1 or HSV-2 γ34.5 open reading frame fused to a C-terminal HA tag. Lysates were prepared for Western blotting at 24 h posttransfection. The membranes were directly probed (A) or divided and probed (B) with anti-34.5 antiserum or anti-HA antibody.
