In human tracheal epithelium, XB130 is located in the cytoplasm near the apical sides. There is no XB130 expression in the basal cells (A). In mice, the tracheal epithelium in Xb130 KO mice is thicker compared with WT mice (B and C), but there is no difference in the epithelial cell density (D).
