Eliminating ROS blocked telekin-mediated cell cycle arrest. HepG2 cells were pretreated with 0, 2.5, 5, or 10 mmol/L NAC and treated with 15 μmol/L telekin or were pretreated with 5 mmol/L NAC for 1 h and then treated with 0, 5, 10, or 15 μmol/L telekin for 24 h. (A) NAC treatment decreased the ROS generation significantly. bP<0.05, cP<0.01 vs 0 μmol/L telekin+5 mmol/L NAC group. (B) NAC treatment decreased the percentage of cells in the G2/M phase. The percentage of cells in the G2/M phase decreased from 50.88% to 18.7% (5 mmol/L NAC).
