The p38 inhibitor SB203580 attenuated cell cycle arrest. HepG2 cells were pretreated with the indicated concentrations of SB203580 for 1 h and then treated with various concentrations of telekin (0, 5, 10, and 15 μmol/L) for 24 h. (A) SB203580 treatment decreased the percentage of cells in the G2/M phase from 50.88% to 26.56% (2.5 μmol/L SB203580) and 17.17% (5 μmol/L SB203580) after 24-h treatment with 15 μmol/L telekin. Inhibiting the activity of p38 attenuated the effect of telekin on cell cycle regulation.
