Neutrophils are labeled with Ly6g antibody (red), and nuclei are counterstained with DAPI (blue). Neutrophil aggregation (arrows) was seen in both genotypes, mostly around the periphery of the renal papilla, but neutrophils appeared more numerous and diffuse in Car2^−/− kidneys. Images were obtained from 2 kidneys/genotype with 2 sections analyzed per kidney.
