Involvement of Rap1 in PACAP-mediated induction of early growth response 1 (Egr1) reporter gene. PC12 cells were transiently transfected with an Egr1 response element containing reporter plasmid and cotransfected with a dominant-negative Rap1 or control plasmid. Total DNA per transfection was held constant by addition of the promot-erless vector pGEM. Cells were then treated with PACAP (100 nM) for 6 h and Egr1 expression was measured by dual-luciferase activity.
