Gated scans reconstruct only a single representative cardiac cycle, so the same cycle is shown twice in (a). The spiral-navigated images have a slightly higher frame rate than the gated images, without the experimental burdens and sensitivities to arrhythmia and respiration associated with gated imaging. The self-navigated images share these benefits and are faster still, reaching 95 fps.
