Quantification of BDNF mRNA expression relative to housekeeping gene (GAPDH) in male and female rats exposed to di(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP) compared to controls (Veh). Male rats exposed to DEHP showed a significant reduction in BDNF mRNA expression compared to controls. There was no significant effect of DEHP treatment on BDNF mRNA expression in female rats compared to controls. Error bars represent standard error of the mean. * = p<0.05.
