^*In Germany, a new rule, the “Pharmaceutical Market Restructuring Act” or AMNOG (arzneimittelneuordnungsgesetz), took effect in January 2011, by which the prices of new drugs are negotiated according to their benefit in comparison with other drugs on the market for the same indication.
