dSrc42/c-Src is activated in response to damage and upon Wg/Wnt signalling upregulation within stem/progenitor cells of the adult Drosophila midgut and mouse small intestine leading to tissue hyperproliferation. Src knockdown prevents intestinal regeneration and tumourigenesis in both model systems.
